Talk Across Worlds, Hear Each Other Too: v1.6 & v1.7

v1.6 — Cross-Game Chat

Cross-server chat was already a thing on ColonThreeMC — players on different servers could talk to each other from day one of the network. But v1.6 took that much further.

The cross-server chat plugin was forked and extended to support a genuinely new feature: cross-game chat. This means that Minecraft players, Discord users, and even Webfishing players can all talk to each other in the same shared chat stream.

Yes, Webfishing. Yes, it works. No, we're not totally sure why we built it, but we did, and it's great.

More detailed documentation on how it works under the hood is still being written — but the short version is: if you're in any of those three places, you're in the conversation.

v1.7 — Voice Chat

In v1.7, proximity voice chat was rolled out across the entire network. Every server now supports it — Hub, Creative, Vanilla, all of them.

Walk up to someone and you can just... talk to them. Walk away and the audio fades. It makes the whole thing feel significantly more alive, especially on Vanilla where you're building and exploring alongside other players.
